A contact's activity feed can be viewed as conversations or as items
A contact's activity feed is displayed by conversation by default. This means that activity feed items are grouped according to their conversation label.
You can also view the activity feed as items. This mean you see a stream of the individual activity feed items arranged in chronological order.
The system will always remember the last view that you used and any filters you have applied. These preferences will be used every time you look at a contact's activity feed until you change them again.

When in the conversations view, click on the ellipsis button at the top right hand corner of the activity feed and click on "Use items view":
