Sometimes email subjects don't make any sense. Use labels to change them.

When a new email is received, it will appear in the Inbox as a new conversation with a label that is set to its subject. You can rename the label so that it appears in Inbox with a different subject.

The original subject of the email is not lost so your contact will still get a reply with the same subject.

To re-label the conversation:

  • Click on the item's subject in Inbox to bring up the conversation panel.

  • Click on the ellipsis button and click on "Re-label" option.

  • Set the new label and click on save.

  • Refresh the Inbox to see the new label. Any new replies will also appear with this label as a group even though the subject of the email stays the same.
