Currently, you can only create a task from an Inbox item (e.g. email) if it has been saved to an existing contact. In fact, the option to create the task does not even show up if there is no existing contact.
It would be better if the option was always available. If the email has not been saved to an existing contact, the contact should be requested at the point where the task is created rather than just not being there and with no explanation why.
This could dovetail into the idea of quick adding a contact.....
